Sad Sad Day.....
I was quite horrified to see the level of gun-violence in the US. especially when it caused a madman to open fire inside a Gurudwara Langar in the US.
Terrible. But what epitomized the Sikh attitude was the statement by Rajwant Singh., a community leader and chairman of the Sikh Council on Religion and Education.
On August 5, 2012, an apparent lone gunman started shooting at people at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. He killed 6 people, and the shooter is also dead after getting shot by a policeman. 3 people are seriously or critically injured, including the police officer that killed the perpetrator.
The following CNN crime news video has an interview about this Oak Creek Sikh temple shooting with Rajwant Singh. Rajwant is a community leader and chairman of the Sikh Council on Religion and Education.
When asked how the community will move forward, he says the Sikh community has received messages from around the country, and there is a drive to collect funds for the victims, including the police officers injured.
Singh says the community will continue to pray for the victims, and he is touched by the well wishes of other religious groups throughout America.
Reporter Don Lemon then discusses some aspects of the Sikh religion, noting that the community is already praying for the shooter, as well. Rajwant Singh says that is just part of the religion, which looks at God as helping everyone, not just good people.
IT leader eh ?
Worse still ? Try seeing the Indian website of IOA ! As worthless as their interest in planning for international competitions.... Pathetic !

Military Interview - A Demo !
Just watched a rare interview of Admiral William McRaven who spoke with CNN lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer at the Aspen Security Forum in Aspen, Colorado. Admiral McRaven is the Cdr of the US Spl Ops Command and planned and executed the Bin Laden raid.
Admiral McRaven spoke with Blitzer about the events leading up to the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound, if national security leaks are a security risk for America and much more.
This is a great example of how a military man can give an interview of a top secret op, without revealing too much, but at the same time displaying loyalty, patriotism and resoluteness of the highest order. This is a MUST WATCH !

New Market Kolkata
Just visited the New Market in Kolkata. Also called the Hogg Market, it was built by the British and like for everycase, we are unable to preserve it even though there are hundreds of shops operating there. It seems no one cares, and i wonder where or taxes are being spent ?
Like all architectural remnants of the British era, this market too will vanish in less than a decade.
There is another image which reveals the state of neglect, a speaker which is covered with cobwebs since at least a decade ! No one seems to care....
Illegal Migrants in Kolkata
Just having seen Assam burn with the Bangladeshi migrant problem, i am amazed to see the sheer callousness of the State and Central Govts over the issue. How can we accept over 2 lakh people driven out of their homes and forced to stay in relief camps. Question is WHO LEF THEM IN ? WHO GAVE THEM VOTER ID CARDS ?
We cant just accept what the netas say, since they are slowly selling the Country away, all for their petty electoral gains. They are all in the twilight of their careers and won't be available for answering later.
I have myself witnessed a similar menace about to erupt into a similar issue in Kolkata, where close to Park Circus, a whole colony of migrants has developed a portion of a water pipeline as their land ! On inquiring from my taxi driver, i was aghast to learn that they were bonafide voters ! Illegal migrants frk Bangladesh have taken over a sizeable portion of our city, right astride the road to the airport ! The netas see it and the bureaucrats see it, but they just don't seem to care...or do they ?
Here are a few images to show what i mean....

The Idiot Box
I really don't need it. The screaming, accusations, ignorance and more on TV. Can we just get to know they have done in the past week to improve roads, provide electricity to cities and villages, open new hospitals with doctors and more of the issues that affect me on an everyday basis.
How does watching these news clips help me ? Does it matter who sits on the chair, since all he is interested is to make his Swiss bank account fuller and leave....at our expense !
Karnataka is a pure case of political natakas(dramas) we are so used to. Let me break it down in layman terms. An ex CM who was chargesheeted for raping the State's resources was removed after a lot of political wranglings and a new CM posted. But, yes this is where it gets interesting, the tainted ex-CM is still more powerful and if he cannot get back on the chair he has placed his proxy CM there ! WOW ! And all the while the tainted ex CM is all over the news as if he is a saint !
It is time for the MORATORIUM on all news political to teach these netas a lesson. Please change channels to watch Discovery, NatGeo or something you can enjoy with your family !
